May i inform something, the "Kadalundi river train disaster" requires correction.
The report in the article, that the first four carriages including the engine got derailed while crossing the bridge is False. The actual information is that the last four coaches of the "chennai mail" got derailed while crossing the bridge. The four coaches include a Reservation compartment "S7",two general compartment and a ladies coach cum guardvan. Chennai mail doesnot have stopping at the Kadalundi railway station which is near to the Kadalundi river. From the train driver's information, the train was nearly running nearly running at 75km/hr when the train entered the bridge. The engine crossed the bridge and when the train was touching 80km/hr, the driver felt a decrease in pressure while looking at the pressure gauge and brought the train to a halt. == Date is not correct == the date of the accident was 21st June 2001. Here it is quoted as 2001 July 2001 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 61.1.240.74 (talk) 18:23, 1 November 2008 (UTC) |
