Article name
editI have moved this article from KBAK-TV to KBAK. Consensus on both WP:NC#Broadcasting and Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Television_Stations#Article_names is that the article name should reflect the actual call letters of the TV station. As can be seen here: [1] the call letters for this station are in fact KBAK-TV. Any concerns regarding this topic would be best addressed here: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Television_Stations. —A 09:01, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
Past network affiliations
editNon-wiki sources say that this was an ABC affiliate from the 70's or early 80's through 1996...Ranma9617 22:24, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
Accuracy dispute
editThe station didn't switch to ABC until the 1970's,please see Talk:KGET-TV for more info...Ranma9617 06:17, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
KBFX-CA merge
editlow power translators such as KBFX-CA are not considered notable as they provide no unique content only rebroadcasts from the parent station. KBFX-CA should be merged into KBAK-TV--Rtphokie (talk) 00:02, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
KBFX-CA's article should NOT be merged with KBAK's article. KBFX-CA existed as a seperate station before the subchannel of KBAK-DT started. Owner Fisher Communications has applied for a class A digital license for RF channel 22 so KBFX can have it's own high definition digital channel after 2-17-09 (source: a post by a Fisher manager on the AVS Forum). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.247.21.233 (talk) 08:07, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
Translator
editKBAK has a translator K55CW (now Channel 34) for the Mojave Desert to broadcast their station in Eastern Kern County, Antelope Valley and Victor Valley. In 2013, the translator dropped KBAK programming and is a national CBS feed. http://tvlistings.zap2it.com/tvlistings/ZCSGrid.do?stnNum=24123&channel=55&aid=zap2it KBAK is on cable though in these areas. 68.190.254.86 (talk) 23:33, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
