Alexander Mosar edit

Just a minor addition. Bachmann (Das Schachspiel und seine historische Entwicklung, Leipzig / Berlin 1924, p.55) writes: "With the support of Alexander Mosar, who was known as chess teacher, Mendheim edited [or published] in 1814 a Taschenbuch [= booklet] für Schachfreunde." So the chess player Mosar (1772-1869), was indeed the publisher, not a co-author (as it seems). Until his later age, Mosar was known among the Berlin chess circles. --DaQuirin (talk) 10:44, 2 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Magdeburg 1833-1834 edit

From other sources (including Bledow, Korrespondenzpartien) it seems that Mendheim was not that much involved in the Magdeburg games, played by the Schachgesellschaft and the Pleiades. von der Lasa writes in his Schacherinnerungen that "younger forces" played these games (as compared to the parallel contest with Hamburg, run by Mendheim in the name of the older Schachclub). Spinrad is mistaken here, it seems. --DaQuirin (talk) 11:27, 7 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
