Confused views on euthenasia?
editIn an Independent article from 2005 about her book 'The Moral State We're In' (http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/profiles/rabbi-julia-neuberger-highly-unorthodox-6150953.html), Rabbi Neuberger states she is in favour of voluntary euthenasia, yet in 2011, at the annual Tyburn lecture, she is quoted as saying "“Just so everyone knows, let’s be very clear, I am not in favour of euthanasia, I am not in favour of physician-assisted suicide. I don’t think it is a good idea for our health professionals to kill their patients any more than they do accidentally, I just don’t think it is a good idea." (http://www.lifenews.com/2013/01/16/julia-neuberger-heading-liverpool-care-pathway-inquiry-is-worrying/). In 2005 she voted against an anti-euthanasia amendment to the pro-euthanasia Mental Capacity Bill (now law). The amendment would have removed the ability of attorneys to deny life-sustaining treatment to mentally-incapacitated patients. As the chief criticisms of the Liverpool Care Pathway (LCP) relate to it being euthanasia by omission (AKA euthanasia by neglect– the withdrawal of life-sustaining care,i.e. food and/or fluids,and/or reasonable medical treatment), some feel her vote against the MCA amendment should disqualify her from the chairmanship of any inquiry into the LCP. Do you know if she has debated this subject since 2005 - she seems rather confused?79.67.253.58 (talk) 19:42, 18 January 2013 (UTC)twl79.67.253.58 (talk) 19:42, 18 January 2013 (UTC)
Charity involvement
editThe first paragraph of the section Charity involvement has nothing to do with charity but constitutes about half of the section. 109.154.58.234 (talk) 14:15, 8 October 2016 (UTC)
