Merge with Cheeseburger?

Since this appears to be a Minnesotan delicacy, I think let WP Minnesota decide whether or not it should merge with cheeseburger.--Bedford 05:11, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

I think that a Jucy Lucy resembles a cheeseburger, but it's something distinct. For example, if someone asks me what a JL is, I'll answer "It's like a cheeseburger, but..." rather than "It's a cheeseburger with the cheese inside". So, I would oppose the merge. Buster's e.g.

Recently an anonymous user added another example of nonstandard Jucy Lucy: "at Buster's on 28'th, back in Minneapolis, they serve a Juicy Lucy with Marscapone and Bleu cheese inside." Questions for discussion:

1. Is this example premature? Buster's has only been in business for a very short time.
2. Are two examples necessary, or is one sufficient?

Capitalization

Should the J & L be capitalized in the article, like they are in the title? Huw Powell (talk) 01:07, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

That's a good question. Clearly there's no consensus so far since it's written both ways in the article. If it's not to be capitalized, then I believe the article title violates WP:MOS?

I assume that you mean the three external links, which are all upper-case; so the action seems reasonable, but it's kind of abrupt. New photo

♦ I'm underwhelmed by the new photo. The subject matter is identical to the existing one, it's cluttered by the fries, the angle is not as good, and the flash is reflecting off the burger in an unpleasant way. ♦ I agree that the lighting in general is better, but I think that the specular highlights on the burger grease are kind of awful, and the composition on the old one is much superior: it shows what the burger looks like in a fairly natural setting, while in the new one the top bun is missing and the patty is strangely torn in half, with the cheese basically invisible. --R27182818 (talk) 16:47, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Either allow Matt's Bar and 5-8 Club to link or remove the links to them

I see that the article Matt's Bar has been created and deleted a number of times. If this is just going to be a red link maybe we should remove it's link or link to their own sites (5-8 Club and Matt's Bar) respectively.

If this information should be in Wikipedia please create those two pages in a way so others will be less likely to delete them so the links mean something.

Since there seems to be a bit of controversy, albeit friendly, about who created it, it would be relevant to add some sort of dates to this article. That top photo is ugly

A Jucy Lucy from Matt's Bar

...and one from the 5-8 Club

If someone handed this burger to me I'd say "ewww... brown runny cheese". I think the one below looks more appetizing.

Perhaps you would, but the top shows how the molten cheese looks in a burger from Matt's Bar; the bottom is from the 5-8 Club. They are different, but both are credibly claimed to be the original. I think the article should continue to show both. Jonathunder (talk) 00:18, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
