He's notable for 2 reasons; as Eamon's father, and because of the decades long search to find who he was, which is still ongoing. Joe Kennedy would hardly have merited a line in wikipedia if he wasn't the father of JFK.Red Hurley (talk) 10:33, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Please read WP:BIO. Being someone's father does not establish notability (see WP:NOTINHERITED ("Relationships do not confer notability");
Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr. is a different case, because he has an independent claim to to notability "as a leading member of the Democratic Party and of the Irish Catholic community. He served briefly as the United States Ambassador to the United Kingdom", and there are plenty of sources as evidence of his notability independent of his sons.
