The Aston Villa player database[1] and "The Alphabet of the Saints" both give his first name as "James", although the Aston Villa database adds (maybe "Joseph"). The Joyce and Matthew books, and www.allfootballers.com all refer to him as "John" or "Jack". Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 19:00, 21 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

@Daemonic Kangaroo any sources quoting Tony Matthews cannot be trusted. He fabricated a lot of his information unfortunately. Arnold villa71 (talk) 16:33, 19 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
