accused de Soto of "supplying arms and other support to Seminole and Creek Indians at war."

edit

Hello @Solo4701

[?who specifically?] accused de Soto, governor of Spanish West Florida, and Francisco Caso y Luengo, commandant of Fort San Marco of "supplying arms and other support to Seminole and Creek Indians at war with the ..."

I don't think this relates to the War of 1812. I think it relates to the Seminole wars instead. De Soto was not governor in the time period to February 17, 1815. Can you get the page of this source recorded as well, please? I had no access to the source via the web link that you provided. As such, I was not able to verify what you have written. Certainly, you're right in saying that this event hadn't occurred during the War of 1812—pardon my ignorance—I'll adjust the excerpt's placement accordingly.
For that matter, here is the requested accessible link, though it doesn't include much of the additional context you're searching for:

Thank you for the edit.
I was confused as to what was taking place in January 1815. 'In January 1815, he surrendered Fort St. Michael.'
Did he surrender Fort San Miguel on November 7, 1814 to Andrew Jackson? If you could assist with this, it would be appreciated. Thanks. Keith H99 (talk) 15:46, 5 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
