Conlan or Conlon? edit

His name is listed consistently as "John F. Conlan" in Walker, Brian M, ed. (1992). Parliamentary election results in Ireland, 1918-92. Dublin: Royal Irish Academy. ISBN 0 901714 96 8. ISSN 0332-0286. (on pages 218, 226, 229, 237, and 245).

However, Walker's book is not perfect (e.g. it entirely omits the Dublin Central constituency in 1989, page 271), so I thought it would help to cross-check against the clerk's report at the start of each Dáil of the returning officers' reports of TDs elected. Unfortunately, these pages are inconsistent:

Year Link Name
1969 2 July 1969 John F. Conlan (with an "A")
1973 14 March 1973 John F. Conlan (with an "A")
1977 5 July 1977 John F. Conlon (with an "O")
1981 30 June 1981 John F. Conlan (with an "A")
1982 (Feb) 9 March 1982 John F. Conlon (with an "O")
1982 (Nov) 14 December 1982 John F. Conlon (with an "O")

So I have asked the Oireachtas webmaster whether there is a more definitive answer. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 21:47, 18 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Currently the article is at John Conlan and all references in the text are to Conlon. Very inconsistent. Snappy (talk) 00:05, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
