Translation
editDr Gonzo, I must say I like Joy's original translation better. Maybe it wad tad less literal, but at least it had a rhythm. The original Croatian lyrics are difficult to parse anyway, so I don't think too literal translation is called for. Duja 00:56, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
Polish anthem
editIs the anthem in any way related with the anthem of Poland Dąbrowski's Mazurka or is the similarity purely coincidental?
- No. "Hej Slaveni", anthem of former Yugoslavia sounds like anthem of Poland. This song has no connection with Polish anthem. What is similarity you are talking about? Jakiša Tomić 10:25, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

- I doubt it's coincidental—authors of the time apparently liked to copy each other :-). At least the leading verses were likely overwritten from Polish anthem (although I don't have sources to prove). Duja 11:20, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
