The publication dates and death date are accurate. The works continue after his death because Kjelgaard was enormously productive in his last year of life, finishing some 8 novels, hence the publishing backlog. I believe it's common knowledge that Kjelgaard killed himself as a result of the chronic pain that left him unable to get out into his wilderness for that last year, but most published sources, particularly ones contemporary to 1959, are so polite about it that it's difficult to source those facts. — 29 November 2012 Galorette —Preceding undated comment added 17:05, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

Marriage; death location

There's nothing in here about his marriage to a lady named Edna "Eddie" Dresen and moving to Milwaukee to be with her. We had an uncited death location of Arizona, and another of Milwaukee. Are there no reliable sources (as opposed to fansites) about any of this? --Orange Mike | Talk 22:45, 8 March 2020 (UTC)

Hi, I'm new at this and I hope I'm doing it right. I don't know details about marriage, his wife's name, or living in Milwaukee, or what the relevant dates are. However, I have seen Kjelgaard's death certificate when I was using a paid public records site for other research. He did die of suicide in Maricopa County, Arizona - that much I remember for sure. It was Phoenix or one of its suburbs IIRC. I'd gladly add and cite this if I knew how to cite something that doesn't have an exact link, and it appears Maricopa County charges $5 to look at an unofficial copy of a death certificate for research purposes.
