There seems to be a great deal of confusion over the auto trails named "Jefferson Davis Highway." The North American Auto Trails web site (http://www.marion.ohio-state.edu/fac/schul/trails/national/natlist.html) lists three separate roads named after Jefferson Davis: The Jefferson Davis Highway, the Jefferson Davis Memorial Highway, and the Jefferson Davis National Highway. All three are mentioned in the Wikipedia article. However, they obviously were not the same road. One alignment of the J. D. Memorial Highway seems to have followed the western portion of US Highway 80 & 94 through Arizona and California. There is a plaque at Horton Square in San Diego placed by the Daughters of the Confederacy naming the spot as the western terminus of the "Jefferson Davis Highway." It is very close to the Pacific Milestone: the western terminus of the Lee Highway and the Old Spanish Trail. US 80 in southeastern Arizona is marked as the "Jefferson Davis Memorial Highway" on topographic maps. The J.D. Memorial Highway was evidently one of several "Borderland" highways, along with auto trails such as the Old Spanish Trail and the Dixie Overland Highway.

'The western terminus of the highway was identified by a plaque (not a monument) on Horton Plaza, in downtown San Diego. The Jefferson Davis plaque on Horton Plaza was removed on August 16th, 2017, following the Charlottesville terror attack in Virginia.[12] The formal opening of the highway at this terminus was performed by President Warren Harding.'... wonder if anyone gets the odd coincidence, right across the street, north side of Broadway is the U.S. Grant Hotel. Yes, built by his son 'Buck'; and now owned, maintained, and cared for by the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation (who's reservation was signed into law [1875?] by the very same man. around it goes.)

It would probably be appropriate to have separate articles for the different roads.

At least in the 1990s, Georgia DOT labeled the following routes; some information is from [1].

Jefferson Davis Memorial Highway (Route 1)

• U.S. Highway 29, Alabama? (at least LaGrange) to Atlanta
• U.S. Highway 278, Atlanta to Augusta

Jefferson Davis Memorial Highway (Alternate Route 1)

• State Route 44, Union Point (on Route 1) to Washington ([2] says Route 1, but that's a typo, poven by the county map)
• U.S. Highway 78, Washington to Thomson (on Route 1) (not shown on county maps)

Jefferson Davis Memorial Highway (Route 2)

• U.S. Highway 82, Alabama to Tifton
• State Route 125, Tifton to Irwinville
• State Route 32, Irwinville to Ocilla
• U.S. Highway 319, Ocilla to Wadley (not clear between Telfair County and Wrightsville and in Jefferson County, which shows it using US 1 to Emanuel County - but [3] says it turns at Wadley)
• U.S. Highway 1, Wadley to Augusta (map takes it south from Wadley, but [4] disagrees)

Jefferson Davis Memorial Highway (Alternate Route 2)

• State Route 15, Wrightsville (on Route 2) to Sandersville

A good source for some material this article on the Jefferson Davis Highway is the NRHP MPS document available now linked from Brook Road Marker, Jefferson Davis Highway article.
