Identity edit

These notes pertain to the confused identity of James Hayward in library records.

  • James Nice at Library of Congress Authorities —with no catalog records; no WorldCat page for him; GND is only a nameholder
  • James Hayward at LC Authorities —WorldCat conflates multiple people; GND is a nameholder that links one record of his works
  • James Hayward, 1966- at LC Authorities —with 1 catalog record

I revised External links to give the first LC Authorities, second WorldCat, and third specification of template {{Authority control}} --with a visible Warning that both WorldCat pages now combine multiple Haywards and a hidden comment on Nice.
I believe this is the best we can succinctly do now for readers. The third LC Authorities link does provide indirect routes to LC Catalog Records for this James Hayward (as usual), perhaps all such records, but the main route includes a move to the Previous page of the primary search report.
Here is one direct link to a secondary search report [1] --with 4 catalog records for this James Hayward. (I have never put one of those in Article space, partly because I understand that they are not permanent.)
URL revised 2013-09-20 16:00 (try again). ... Confirmed. That URL identifies a search report (Titles List for "Hayward, James [no date]") and functions only while the session is live. Bad URL at 16:06.
Here is 1 other catalog record.[2]
As far as I know those five (4+1) are the only records in LC Online Catalog for works by this James Hayward.
And there are no records for works by James Nice --confirmed by no hits for Shadowplayers title search. --P64 (talk) 16:00, 20 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Wow, thanks very much! - David Gerard (talk) 19:52, 19 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Here is the direct link to an intermediate search report.[3] It displays "Hayward, James" in line 1, "Hayward, James 1966-" in line 5, with Hits=4 and 1. Those are the five hits mentioned above. This one may be permanent ... --P64 (talk) 16:17, 20 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
