BİLGİ changed its logo, the logo on wiki page should be changed, too. University's PR office sent the high resolution logo to me, but Wikipedia don't give access to me for uploading it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kutsalmustafa (talkcontribs) 21:07, 30 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

new administration edit

It seems the university was "purchased" by an American company/organization and numerous policies have changed :

  1. GPA requirements for scholarships have gone up attempting to force more students off scholarships,
  2. Previously permanent faculty have been moved to part-time adjunct positions, and
  3. These new part-time adjunct faculty are now payed hourly and no longer receive health benefits.

I'm sure there are far deeper changes but you may need university students or faculty to document them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.190.133.158 (talk) 12:31, 3 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Whitewashing from 39.50.43.91CollegeMeltdown (talk) 23:48, 7 July 2019 (UTC) edit

It looks like an anonymous source may be removing critical information.

On March 8, 2017, 15 to 20 attackers stormed a demonstration marking International Women’s Day at Istanbul Bilgi University, The university said some students and security personnel were beaten and one student was slightly injured. Six people were arrested.[1][2] Students said that the harassment was not an isolated incident and that they were subjected to threats and harassment over the last two years.[3]

In 2016, a Bilgi University board member was accused of taking $18 million in funds meant for a Turkish reforestation program. Laureate Education self-reported this international corruption to the US Department of Justice and US Securities and Exchange Commission under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).[4] In 2018, the US Department of Justice closed its inquiry into possible corruption violations. [5]

According to the Turkish media outlet Cumhuriyet, Bilgi has been accused of having connections with the US Central Intelligence Agency.[6] CollegeMeltdown (talk) 23:37, 7 July 2019 (UTC)23:41, 7 July 2019 (UTC)CollegeMeltdown (talk)Reply
