Many bios of Jews who lived in nazi Germany give their names with Israel as their middle name for males or Sarah for females which was mandated by nazis to identify Jews in cases when their actual names were "insuffiently Jewish." They were required to use these middle names in all correspondence, etc. However, I doubt if many/any Jews who had had these names imposed upon them continued to use them outside of nazi Germany or when the nazis lost power. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.37.99.86 (talk) 08:53, 21 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
