Title correction

edit

The introductory paragraph to this article currently states:

Invasion U.S.A. (in the actual title frame but not the publicity, Invasion USA)…

I just reviewed the only two elements of physical evidence I can find, the Synapse Films DVD release (available through Netflix) and the MST3K episode, and found they both displayed the same title frame, "INVASION USA". There are no periods in the title, which directly contradicts this opening statement. If no one can provide a source more reliable than photographic proof of these prints, I plan to change the title to "Invasion USA", update the text, and fix the various links accordingly. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 19:32, 25 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

== This is little more than "a choice between a flea and a louse" argument

"Sometimes 'INVASION, USA' - or alternatively, use 'USA' as accepted title, and then "Sometimes 'INVASION, U.S.A.'. This is quite adequate, people; and, quite accurate, as per context (title frames, posters, publicity, commentary, etc., with their discrepencies).JTGILLICK (talk) 20:21, 21 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

the "Comments" section

edit

Reads like a trivia section to me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.78.240.7 (talk) 00:35, 14 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

I've renamed it to "Production and history" to better describe its contents. Wasted Time R (talk) 13:46, 19 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Removed part of Sentence about use of Soviet Planes

edit

In the Production section, there is a sentence that talks about how the enemy although never explicitly named is clearly meant to be the Soviet Union based on the accents and other details. One detail mentioned was the use of Soviet aircraft such as the Tupolev bomber and the Mig fighter. The reference does not support this, there is no mention of Soviet aircraft. I also just watched the movie and the aircraft for both sides look to me like stock footage of US planes. The Tupolev bomber was literally a copy of a USAF B-29 Superfortress (one crash landed in the Soviet Union and the Soviets re-engineered it) and the Mig looked a lot like the Sabre jet so it is hard to tell for sure but I'm pretty sure it is all just stock photography of US planes. Finding the footage for Soviet planes wouldn't have been easy. They also sort of explain the US markings on the planes by saying that the enemy is using US uniforms and markings. In any case since there is no reliable source for that claim I removed it. --MadScientistX11 (talk) 04:54, 22 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Removing Unsourced POV Changes

edit

Someone recently made some changes to the article that were not constructive (removing a link to the article on stock footage) and also unsourced POV e.g., adding "But the reality is much more complicated than that." to the section that discusses the meaning of the film. First, it's not even clear to me exactly what "But the reality is much more complicated than that" even means and second whatever it means there is no source provided for this statement. I'm reverting those changes. --MadScientistX11 (talk) 13:46, 4 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
