Page cleanup and move(?)

edit

First off, this page is a mess and has been for some time. Someone needs to do something with it.

Second, all of the other teams do not include "men's" in the title (e.g Louisville Cardinals basketball, LSU Tigers basketball, and Duke Blue Devils basketball). I think this should be moved to Indiana Hoosiers basketball. Oren0 21:44, 6 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your first point is indisputable, but I'm not sure what's to be done, since it appears there aren't many Hoosiers fans that are both interested in and capable of expanding and improving the article. Your second point, however, is not accurate. In fact, your final example redirects to Duke Blue Devils men's basketball. Furthermore, many of the other college basketball articles include "men's" in their titles. See the aforementioned Duke example, Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball, North Carolina Tar Heels men's basketball, UCLA Bruins men's basketball, Illinois Fighting Illini men's basketball, Ohio State Buckeyes men's basketball, Wisconsin Badgers men's basketball, Michigan State Spartans men's basketball, and Texas Longhorns men's basketball, among others. ~ João Do Rio 03:54, 16 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

I am a member of wikiproject college basketball and will be cleaning up the article for rating. Please feel free to help at anytime. I will be adding a comprehensive yearly coaching records table that are found on similar basketball pages, such as UCLA men's and Arizona men's basketball pages. Also, adding men's in the title is the standard on most sites. Tedmoseby (talk) 02:47, 30 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:IU-logo 2.png

edit

Image:IU-logo 2.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

File:Hoosier-Huddle.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

edit
An image used in this article, File:Hoosier-Huddle.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Other speedy deletions
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

To take part in any discussion, or to review a more detailed deletion rationale please visit the relevant image page (File:Hoosier-Huddle.jpg)

This is Bot placed notification, another user has nominated/tagged the image --CommonsNotificationBot (talk) 12:23, 4 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
