The result of the debate was PAGE MOVED to Independent Liberals (Israel) per discussion below. -GTBacchus(talk) 02:18, 29 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Independent LiberalsIndependent Liberal Party (Israel) (or Independent Liberals (Israel)) — The Independent Liberal Party (UK, 1918) and the Independent Liberal Party (UK, 1931) are also frequently referred to as the "Independent Liberals". The Independent Liberals article should be a redirect to Independent Liberal Party, which is a disambiguation page. Psychonaut 20:23, 15 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

  1. Support suggestion proposed by numbers 57. The current title is very vague. My first thought when I read it was that it referred to Bernie Sanders and his ilk. 205.157.110.11 00:28, 16 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
  2. Strong Support - though the first title looks better. We try, by WP:NC, to avoid plural page names. We don't do Republicans but Republican Party (United States). Patstuarttalk|edits 05:19, 21 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
  3. Support - Like Pat said, we don't use plurals for article names if it is avoidable. -- Cielomobile talk / contribs 19:19, 24 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Discussion edit

Rather than moving it to Independent Liberal Party (Israel), it should be moved to Independent Liberals (Israel), as its official name did not include the word "party". Other than that, I have no problem with the move. Number 57 20:32, 15 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Just to push the point, as other contributors to the debate seem to be suggesting otherwise, the article must be called the Independent Liberals (Israel) because this was the party's actual name (in Hebrew: ליברלים עצמאיים, Libralim Atzma'im, lit. Independent Liberals). There was no such thing as the Independent Liberal Party. Even if it not the policy to give articles plural names, it still must be done when the article is about something with a plural name, or should we start by renaming The Incredibles "The Incredible Family"?!
