Cleanup

edit

I added a cleanup template to this page due to many many examples of non-notable and unverified information. In most places, this article reads like promotional text, not an encyclopedia article. Rickterp 13:10, 15 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

For an excellent model of a high school article, see Plano Senior High School. Rickterp 13:15, 15 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Google search description of Horizon High School states it's open to all white students. Someone know how to clean that out? "Horizon High School is a pubic high school open to all WHITE students, for grades 9-12. The school, in Scottsdale, Arizona, United States, is a part of the ..." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.67.60.207 (talk) 02:42, 7 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

refer to WP:COPYVIO, cleanup of these sections which are clearly derived from:

Who cares?

Man, do you think the PV school district really gives a crap about the copyright 'violation'? And anyway, PVUSD is ridiculous, they kick out students for suspecting them to be future school shooters when they live right down the street anyway. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.231.65.233 (talk) 19:28, 25 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

It doesn't matter. It is still illegal plus it is against Wikipedia policy. Bvlax2005 (talk) 02:29, 21 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Merger

edit

The only text in this article is a direct copy of the first few lines in the other article. It might be prudent to simply place a redirect since there really isn't any data to merge Bvlax2005 (talk) 04:42, 21 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I went ahead and redirected it to Horizon_High_School_Scottsdale,_Arizona Bvlax2005 (talk) 20:49, 21 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Stubbed and moved

edit

I went through and nuked huge portions of this article, which was an absolute disaster. Between poorly written prose, unsourced nonsense, needless trivia, press-release promotional statements and possible BLP violations, this article needed to be pared back. I didn't nuke all of the band stuff, but it needs to be cited or it will get deleted as well. Similarly, the athletics section needs to have some citations added, or I'll remove all of the claims to state and regional titles. There is not a single citation anywhere in the article, and the external links vaguely masquerading as cites all failed Wikipedia's reliable source guidelines. It is likely that a fair portion of the article was a copyright violation, too; I saw this talk page only after I had stubbed and moved the article.

I have also fixed the mess caused by the improper move. The article now resides at Horizon High School (Scottsdale, Arizona) which is the appropriate format for disambiguation. Horologium (talk) 20:07, 8 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

OK, since nobody has provided citations for the athletic and arts sections, I have deleted them. Without citations to reliable sources, I will continue to revert any attempts to reinsert them. However, I will also resist any attempt to delete this article. There is sufficient material to retain this article, but it must be sourced. Horologium (talk) 02:18, 14 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Delete it all!!

edit

Ok so if you're all just going to keep deleting things from this page because its not cited, you might as well just delete the whole page. You can't say that things are true because they're not "cited", do you really need a citation if you're a teacher or student at that school? How about setting up some ground rules; only delete things on this page that are clearly not true or vandalism. This page used to be huge, but thanks to users like Raymie and Horologrium especially, the page is only a couple sentences long! Raymie and Horologium, if you're going to delete everything, why not add to the page as well?

Thanks,

FYI, there are guidelines for all high school articles. You will find them at WP:WPSCHOOLS/AG. Gtwfan52 (talk) 07:12, 28 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

edit

I added the NCES School ID to Template:Infobox school/doc as an example for reference. Just want to users to know about it. Editor of 3000 (talk) 23:27, 15 August 2014 (UTC) Please ignore this statement above. Editor of 3000 (talk) 02:48, 29 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
