Removed "Seven Sisters Road" because it isn't a song by Bruce Springsteen. The confusion probably arises from the narrator comparing Seven Sisters Road, next to where he lives, to "Thunder Road", a Springsteen song.

Opening paragraph

"The film is very loosely based on the 1995 British novel of the same name by Nick Hornby, with the setting moved to London from Chicago and the name of the lead character changed. This is obviously wrong since the film takes place in Chicago. I don't know where the book takes place though. You are mistaken. The British novel that the film is based on is set in London but the film changed the setting from London to Chicago and the lead character's name was changed. Perhaps this text could be reworded better but it is essentially correct.--J.D. (talk) 15:21, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

AUDIOPHILE? are you sure this is right?? so he obsesses over audio equipment?? not records?? he's not an obsessive record collector? sounds wrong, i don't think it's audiophile, but i haven't seen it in 11 years, maybe he is, but why then is the main setting a record shop and not an audio gear joint? i dunno..sounds weird to my ears..audiophile?? hmm...

What Next?

What do we need to add to make this a better article? I feel like the plot is pretty good and i will assume the lack of corrections and such proves that. But i want to add more things to this page. How about a comparison section to the book? To Do: --comparison --On set history (IE where was it shot, special things to notice) --Conections to Real life events

I'm not sure where to mention this, but the music columnist in the film that Rob Gordon develops a crush on is not played by Catherine Zeta-Jones. Catherine Zeta-Jones plays one of his ex-girlfriends in the film. Newfalconer (talk) 11:58, 31 March 2018 (UTC)

I took the triva and put the two best things into the article its self and removed the other stuff. I also added a new sub section for "references in other works", but i dont know how to get that into the little index box.

i was also thinking we should make a seperate page for the sound track as that takes up a lot of the page and could be expanded upon.

Trivia section

A think the trivia section should be put back as there is alot of trivia that is associated with the book and film for example: there is a reference to the band the "Lemonheads" and one of their songs was titled "It's a shame about Ray"

while that is intresting, trivia sections are fround on by Wiki, all information in them can and should be used elsewhere in the page. For your idea i would say it would make a nice addition to the sound track page we have yet to start. thoughts?

A trivia item that may relate to the soundtrack is that, when Rob announces that he will sell five copies of "The Three EPs" by The Beta Band and places the CD in, it begins playing towards the end of the song, rather than the beginning. Taking Back Sunday's track "Number Five with a Bullet", from their 2004 album Where You Want to Be, borrows its title from a line in the film in which Rob describes Laura as entering the number five spot of his top 5 break ups "with a bullet" when he sees her with a man he hates.

Mitch Clem's punk rock webcomic Nothing Nice To Say had a strip stating the funniest thing in High Fidelity is that fact that any person could find Green Day and Stiff Little Fingers alike.

The song "Music or the Misery" by Fall Out Boy takes its name from the opening scene, as Rob asks himself, "Which came first: the music, or the misery?"

It is likely that this is original score music composed by Howard Shore. The time for the playback matches the time shown for the track "End Credits" in the score recordings.
