Official records indicate this man's name is Henry Melvill Napier. They are Men and Machines by C H Wilson and W J Reader, the history of D Napier & Son 1808-1958. Scotland Births and Baptisms, The London Gazette of 23 July 1871 (promotion to a second lieutenant), Blood and Thunder The boys of Eton College and the First World War (re son).
