editDoes anyone who knows this man well, know if he is the same person as Henry Howard, 3rd Earl of Arundel? If so, the 2 articles should be merged]]. Thanks, Boleyn2 (talk) 11:43, 26 December 2009 (UTC)
Renounced succession?
editI am not aware of any instance between the attainders and surrenders-and-regrants of previous centuries and the Peerage Act 1963 that anyone was able to "renounce succession" to a peerage in favor of another relative. Has this Quaker cousin Thomas who declined to be 12th Duke been somebody's family legend without historical basis? Or was there a legal question as to the legitimacy of his descent? Normally a non-claiming heir results in a dormancy. 96.250.80.27 (talk) 02:28, 10 September 2021 (UTC)
