These artists:

appear to have been added here simply because they are Odinist/Pagan musicians. Is this the case, or does their music actually sound like that of Hedningarna's? -- Takwish 15:55, 22 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

No, they're not musically similar at all. As a big fan of Forefather, I can attest that they'd never come to mind when thinking of artists similar to Hedningarna.

Fair use rationale for Image:Hedningarna.jpg

Image:Hedningarna.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:15, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Genre

I've changed the genre listed from neofolk and neo-medieval to folk and world music. I suspect the person who listed them as neofolk was not aware that the term neofolk refers to a post-industrial style of music. There is no evidence that anyone actually thinks Hedningarna belongs to the same musical family as Death In June, :Of The Wand & The Moon:, Darkwood and Empyrium. Those who have heard neofolk should be able to attest that Hedningarna does not fit in. I was not able to find any credible website that describes Hedningarna as neofolk - other than those that copies wikipedia word for word. The band's website does not use the term neofolk nor does it reference anything that might suggest a common ground with neofolk artists. None of the wikipedia articles on the individual members of Hedningarna use the term neofolk either. I removed neo-medieval because the poorly written wikipedia article on neo-medieval (a possible neologism) states that "Whether [Hedningarna] is actually neo-Medieval or not may be a matter of debate." It seems to me that it would be better to just describe Hedningarna with the broader terms of folk and world music, just like the article on Gjallarhorn. --60.241.170.216 06:19, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
