Capacity edit

what is the capacity of Hayward Field?? i read in the newspaper recently in coverage of the 2008 Olympic Trials that the crowd was 20,000 people but in two different places in this article, the capacity is listed as 10,500 and 15,000. please help hornplayer2 (talk) 05:23, 11 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

The university built temporary seating (see http://http://www.flickr.com/photos/pchinn/2586908373/) at Hayward to increase the capacity for the Olympic Trials, so the university's "official" capacity will be different from the Trials "official" capacity (if they even provide such a figure). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.223.91.66 (talk) 20:49, 7 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

The capacity in the eastern and western galleries 10,500. In September 2016 start renovations in the stadium and build a new gallery in the West. Permanent capacity will increase to 12,500. With the temporary galleries from North and from the South, the stadium could accommodate 30,000 after the renovation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.180.59.35 (talk) 18:26, 17 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

New stadium / major renovation (2020) edit

In 2018 the stadium will be demolished. The new stadium is expected to open in 2020. The university is calling this a "renovation". However, in reality it is more like a rebuild. https://hayward.uoregon.edu/ Should a new article be created, or should we simply update this one with this news?
