Talk:Happy Feet Two

This page should not be deleted. The original edition of this page was deleted because of alleged copyright violations, but I can find no instance of that on this page.Alan (talk) 22:19, 28 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

I revise my statement, your Google skills are strong because it was you (User:Akcarver) who obviously created this article with content from the web. Your signature was a bit misleading, as is your comment regarding copyright violations. De728631 (talk) 22:30, 28 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
No, I did NOT copy this page from anyone at all. I DID move it from Happy Feet 2, as that title is incorrect from everything I can find from the film makers. If you look at the history of Happy Feet 2, you'll find that I didn't create the original page, I just edited and redirected someone else's created page. I will rewrite the page to avoid any copyright violations.Alan (talk) 23:53, 28 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
I think there is a chicken-and-egg concern: did the review copy the Wikipedia article? I've done a history merge: the history of the article from Happy Feet 2 is now included here—and it's a long enough history that CSD G12 would not apply here. —C.Fred (talk) 00:29, 29 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for looking into this. I hope that my edits have removed any question of copyright infringement.Alan (talk) 00:34, 29 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
I wouldn't say the question's removed. I'd just say it's a stickier one and not one that can be handled speedily. —C.Fred (talk) 00:41, 29 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Looking at the article that was alleged to have been infringed, that article is dated April of this year, but from what I can determine, this article was created in January of 2010, which greatly predates the allegedly infringed article. I would agree with C. Fred that the reviewer copied the WP article, and not the other way around.Alan (talk) 00:45, 29 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Contested deletion

edit

This page should not be speedy deleted because... I am going to spend a good amount of time rewriting it to avoid the copyright issues. I wasn't aware of the issues, as someone else had originally created the page. I did add the promo poster with a fair use rationale. --Alan (talk) 23:50, 28 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Brittany's death and Erik's dancing

edit

I heard that Brittany died in a skiing accident, not pneumonia. Unless it was pneumonia as a result of the accident.

Also, just out of curiousity, if Erik is afraid of dancing, then why was he seen dancing at the end of the first Happy Feet movie? Unless I'm remembering it wrong. Does this take place within that time gap? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.87.210.226 (talkcontribs) 02:14, 6 November 2011‎ (UTC)Reply

Gabe Newell

edit

I can't seem to find any evidence of Gabe Newell being in the movie. IMDB doesn't list him as a Voice Actor. Can someone confirm this? And if Gabe Newell IS in the movie, is it the same Gabe Newell, CEO of Valve Corporation? 24.68.37.250 (talk) 20:22, 31 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Bill and Will

edit

Bill and Will the krill(s) are listed in the plot summary as boyfriends. Given Hollywood's coyness about LGBT characters in children's films, I was surprised that this relationship was literally stated by the filmmakers as opposed to winkingly implied with plausible deniability. Googling around, I can't find any direct evidence of this, just a lot of Breitbart and other right-wing news orgs and religious groups decrying the innuendo between the two. In fact, one of the co-authors even addresses the interpretation saying he's all for it, but it wasn't how it was intended: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2012-05-23/livingston---we27d-better-get-used-to-queer-animations/4028296. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BobisMYyuncle (talkcontribs) 05:15, 3 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

George Miller quotation

edit

There have been a number of edits recently regarding a quotation from George Miller about a possible sequel. Here's the full line from the interview:

If you put a gun to my head and said, “You have to come up with a story for Happy Feet 3,” I’d say shoot me. I would have no idea. I really would have no idea. The stories creep up on you. You just have to allow the stories to come, and then they get in like little ear worms in your head and they won’t go away. If that happens and we’ve got the energy, we’ll do a third one. If it doesn’t happen, it doesn’t happen. That’s the only way you can do it. It has to be authentic. I really wanted to make this film better than the first one. Otherwise, at my age, what’s the point? You really want to make it better. If something comes up that’s really exciting and I can convey that enthusiasm to other people, then there would be a third one.[1]

I agree that just the first bold passage alone is a little distorting. Are we better served to quote the entire thing instead of just the last sentence? We'd probably need to move it off to a blockquote instead of have it inline. —C.Fred (talk) 12:30, 19 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

I think both bolded bits should be included, but also the "I would have no idea." followed by an ellipsis.  Nixinova  T  C   05:48, 13 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
