Hello @Osman Mustafa Osman:, as you can see, I have copyedited your article and mostly retained the English language sources. Your sources in Arabic were not very useful, as they don't talk much about her work in an encyclopedic neutral style. Also, we don't usually need sources in the lead paragraph, but mainly in the following text. There is still room for developing the article on her style of music, how it relates to dalooka or tom-tom styles as Magdi El Gizouli wrote in his useful article cited. Anyway, the quality of the sources and the neutral style of writing we have now is sufficient, IMO, to delete the hatnote regarding doubts about noteability. Also, we don't place names of individual artists under See also, which is rather meant for general further reading about similar subjects. Al Balabil here can stay, as it is another example of Sudanese women singers. I have seen, however, that someone raised doubts on Wikimedia about your being the author of the older picture, and if it is not really your own original work, it will be deleted soon. Remember, we only can use pictures that are not infringing anyone's copyright, which poses limits to illustrating Wikipedia articles. - If you plan on writing more articles on Sudanese culture, I will be happy to assist and have a look at the formal aspects, even in draft version before you publish it. But in general, the technical side of your first draft was quite good already. - A final question: Are you in Sudan, and could you take photographs I need for Wikipedia? Best regards, Munfarid1 (talk) 18:27, 19 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hello @Osman Mustafa Osman, I just added a section of "Further reading" where you can find two works on Sudanese popular music. These might be useful for your further research, just as the two books in Arabic in the Further reading section of Music of Sudan. If you could find a copy of these books in Khartoum, this could be very useful as complementary information to the English language sources.- For Hanan Bulu Bulu, it would be interesting, if any source talked about her later career, but I could not find anything on this. Also, you could write an article on her for the Arabic WP. With regard to photos you can upload to Wikimedia, it is not enough to have a permission by anyone, but the photographer himself will have to upload them to Wikimedia. Of course, this seriously restricts our possibilities for illustrating articles. But WP is very strict on copyright, and it is not allowed to just upload pictures you found somewhere, if you are not the original photographer or if they are not in public domain. There is one exception as far as I know, but it is rather complex and most often not practicable. Here is more information on this matter. Munfarid1 (talk) 21:48, 23 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Munfarid1 Hello, thanks for your contributions I will look for this book, secondly, I think it is important to communicate with us via e-mail to put some points and contribute in an effective way.
No, a video is not useful IMO, - videos of artists are not common in Wikipedia articles, as they are encyclopedic reference with the most important information. But if you can take a photograph of her, that would be useful as a better alternative to the one you used for her infobox. - If you send me your email address, I will be happy to reply from mine. @Munfarid1 and Arabic Wikipedia I find some difficulty in writing because of an editor who monitors my writing and nominates articles for deletion, because earlier I reported him and he responded to the report by filtering articles for deletion, I wrote about Hanan in Arabic Wikipedia and the article is now in the stadium waiting for an administrator to move it. @Munfarid1 I mean a picture on my phone, if it is useful, I will definitely do it in the coming days. I communicate with them constantly and with Hanan's sons. The private email address on my Gmail is Osman.mus6afa@gmail.com Osman Mustafa Osman (talk) 22:09, 23 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
