S3 to Stade edit

The S3 already serves Buxtehude and Stade, so the section "Projected Extensions" needs amendment (see HVV timetable).

I don't know whether this line requires 'dual-system' units as mentioned in the article, although I suspect that it uses standard S-Bahn trains.

There seems to be an issue with the templates used to define the preceding and next station names on the S3 (see Hamburg-Neugraben railway station). — Preceding unsigned comment added by TraceyR (talkcontribs) 22:57, 17 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

hi there, templates are corrected ;-) but I think the Projected Extensions section is okay, because this is as mentioned there an overhead line <(?) right translation> railway and the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund plans to rebuild it (I've got no ref atm). The S-Bahn uses other than the regular trains. New trains able to use both systems. Sebastian scha. (talk) 20:44, 20 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Language edit

Shouldn't 'Verkehrsrot' be translated as 'Traffic Red' instead of 'Transport Red'?

'Turning option' sounds strange. I'd say 'connection to other services'.

The third paragraph edit

"Similar to Berlin and unlike Hanover the S-Bahn in Hamburg is an important part of public transport within the city of Hamburg due to its dense schedule and its good coverage of the city's metropolitan region. Unlike both Berlin and Hanover, the S-Bahn in Hamburg is of little importance for regional traffic, since the S-Bahn network lies mostly within the city boundaries though the S3 line in the southwest in 2003 was extended about 7 km into the state of Niedersachsen (the part Neugraben - Stade with two new stations)."

This should be deleted. Why would you compare the system to Berlin and Hanover? There are plenty of S-Bahn Networks in Germany, and all of them have their regional peculiarities: Its just arbitrary. Furthermore the last sentence is wrong: Many many more stations of the Hamburg S-Bahn are not situated in the state of Hamburg, e.g. Pinneberg (S3), Wedel (S1), Großhansdorf (S1), Aumühle (S21), ... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.187.181.11 (talk) 13:05, 12 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
