Can someone make a correction, please? edit

The description of the evasive action when a torpedo was spotted is wrong. The rudder action described counteracts the engine action and no experienced deck officer would have given these orders. The torpedo was heading for the starboard bow and if it was in the forward quarter the correct evasive action is to turn into it with full starboard rudder, starboard engine full astern and port engine full ahead. You turn into the torpedo to show it the narrowest target and the strongest part of the ship (i.e., not the rudder and propellers). If the torpedo was headed for the port bow but came from behind, you turn of course hard to port but this is highly unlikely to have been the case. In any event, the combination of rudder / engine orders described in the article is wrong. I should be grateful if someone would make the correction for me as I am not very good with the Wiki editing rules. Fred Karno Fkarno (talk) 07:23, 5 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Survivors of HMS Pathfinder edit

Hello Guys,

I want to make a fairly big edit, but I would like to make sure it is alright with you guys. I have done some research into the survivors and have found 34 definite survivors, 2 more with a 90% chance of being onboard (Pathfinder isn't in their records), and the ranks of 2 more. If you would like to learn more, please go here where I have made a forum post. As this is a pretty large change from 20 known survivors to 38, I thought it would be best to have you guys make sure it's alright to edit. You can find all of their service numbers on the linked page, and from there, look up the ratings files on the National Archives website. For Officers, just look up their names. From there, you can view their records which show them as serving on HMS Pathfinder until 5 September 1914, the day it sunk.Watspoon (talk) 04:00, 11 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
