Major re-edit edit

I am in the process of improving this article ahead of the opening of the second phase (Daegu-Busan) on November 1, 2010. I gathered enough details and sources for the history of the line and for technical details when I completely re-wrote the relevant sections of the Korea Train Express article, but, as those sections are excessive there and more on-topic here, I copied the relevant content into this article with minor edits, and I plan to shorten them in the KTX article.

Within a day or two, I also plan to re-write the Services section in this article, and make it a sub-section of an Operation section, which shall also contain the re-added 305 km/h reference (I have a half-finished draft). This section is at present an excessive and unsourced, yet incomplete and partly outdated listing of stations served by different KTX services. I think one list will be enough: the stations of Gyeongbu KTX services all along the Gyeongbu HSR from November 2010. I plan to keep only this one and mention the other services (including those not listed) in text only, with links to the Wikipedia articles of the appropiate connecting lines, into which I already entered the KTX service details. In the re-edit, I also want to separate the description of rail lines (infrastructure) and train lines (services) more clearly.

Earlier, I also improved the two infoboxes and the track map. I note that the track map could be improved in several details, on which I plan to work at a later date. But, what I couldn't find and where I would really appreciate help is a good source on the kilometerage. I could re-construct the Seoul–Daejeon section (with the switches in the numbering from Gyeongbu Line to Siheung Interconnection to Gyeongbu HSR to North Daejeon Interconnection to the Gyeongbu Line again) from several sources, but not between Daejeon and Daegu; and I didn't find any numbers for the sections across Daejeon and Daegu which are in construction for 2014. --Rontombontom (talk) 11:31, 25 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
