Talk:Grade I listed buildings in Neath Port Talbot

Ivy Cottage? edit

This is shown on British Listed Buildings here, but I'm having trouble finding any mention of it being listed at Cadw or GGAT. It appears to now be a holiday let raising money to raise money for conservation (here). Following link to here it does seem to have been extensively modernised. I wonder if it has been delisted? There doesn't seem to be a GGAT reference for it, but It is definitely still a grade I listed building, according to cadw, which has an entry under its dot at the historicwales.gov.uk map. (You can get the cadw details via the 'dot', but I can't find any way of directly referencing the details). There are also some details - but not its listing category - at coflein. After posing the question, I've found the answer from @RobinLeicester:'s hint, see:
  • "Ivy Cottage including Facade of Former Banqueting House". Statutory List of Buildings. Cadw. 25 April 2000 [Listed 1952]. Cadw Building ID: 14153. Retrieved 12 April 2016 – via Historic Wales.
See here for a quick how-to on getting refs from historic wales. Robevans123 (talk) 23:37, 12 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
I am worried that the pdf URLs may not persist. @Robevans123:'s useful citation template has ids=6524 which took me to a brewery building. Going via the historicwales dot, I was given ids=24271. It needs further checking in a few days, as the pdf may be made available on the fly and then the ids re-used!. In the meantime I would say use the cite above with caution. My bad! Being really stupid I copied the text of the citation from something else I was working on and updated everything apart from the url - doh! This should work:
Yes - I have a concern on the persistence of the PDF urls. The first time I used a PDF in this way was on Pen y Clawdd Castle on 7th April. It's still working but that's only a week. I've just noticed there are a couple of contact email addresses on the Historic Wales site. I'll send them an email regarding the persistence of PDFs. I'll update with any news. Watch this space... @RobinLeicester: - you're absolutely correct. I went back to some Cadw cites on Forge Row, Cwmavon and found they had changed completely... Coincidentally, while working on some Anglesey articles I found some links to the Cadw listing docs that were working (and the page histories showed that these were entered around 2011...).
The Anglesey pages used an url like this http://jura.rcahms.gov.uk/cadw/cadw_eng.php?id=14153, where the last number is a the listed building id. A link given like this redirects to an address of the form http://historicwales.gov.uk/files/pdf-listed-building.php?ids=24271&lang=ENG.
So this format should now give a reference with a bit more permanence....
