Ultima Online
editit should be noted that he killed Ultima Online by introducing Trammel — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.6.75.144 (talk) 18:43, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
The Sims
editThe list of games Gordon worked on includes The Sims (2003). The Sims came out early (1998?) and before Gordon Walton was at Maxis. Perhaps this is meant to indicate that oversaw a Sims expansion (I don't believe that is the case though), in which case it should specify that. My suspicion, however, is that someone confused The Sims Online (which Gordon did oversee) with The Sims.
Digital Illusions
editI don't know if Applied Computing became another Digital Illusions, but the Digital Illusions linked to has no mention of being founded by Gordon Walton in its history. Furthermore, it is a Swedish Company, which I'm reasonably sure was founded by (now CEO) Patrick Soderlund and some of his friends... at least, that's what I heard when I was working at their Stockholm office. Maybe it's another Digital Illusions you refer to; if so, please do not link to the DICE wiki page. You may also wish to clarify, as I've never heard of any other Digital Illusions, and most people will naturally think of the Battlefield developer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.179.17.107 (talk • contribs) 23:26 February 10 2007
- Yes, that puzzled me too. Richard Pinch (talk) 21:52, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
There obviously are TWO DI's. I'm the co-founder of both and had my name on the Articles of Incorporation when the companies existed. These were both chartered in Bryan, Texas, USA in 1984 (Applied Computing Services) and about 1986 for Digital Illusions. Moby Gmaes has it pretty correct as of the last time I checked. If you have access to the printed games done by DI over the years, they were credited, by name, on the box, in the manual, and the title page. We also founded Alliance Interactive which redeveloped Sub Battle Simulator, PT-109, and Harpoon Classic 97. All of which are sitting here on my shelf. How do I cite them properly? I was updating Larry Bond's info and Red Storm Rising as well and want to do it properly. Digital Illusions [1] Don Gilman (me) [2]

- Well, so far all that's happened is that the incorrect wikilink has been removed. Perhaps it should read DI Inc. (or LLP or PLC or GmbH or whatever). Richard Pinch (talk) 21:59, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

editOne of the two external links in the article has gone, and the other one has relatively little detail. Since this is a WP:BLP, the article must be supported by WP:Reliable sources. Richard Pinch (talk) 15:40, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
