Just to be perfectly transparent about my methodology, I cobbled this together from the info & bibliography that are kindly provided at Leen Helmink, Antique Maps dealer: [1] Given that the bulk of the information in this article seems to have been deleted about a year ago, (evidently due to having been copy-and-pasted from another website) I was especially careful not to plagiarize & to cite everything; but it is a little rough as I'm certainly no expert in Gastaldi or even 16th century maps.
