Wartime incidents
editAs we all know, forums are not reliable sources for Wikipedia's purposes. However, the can be useful tools as pointers for further research.
Warsailors has a thread on Carl Röver, giving some details of the July 1942 and June 1944 incidents. The July 1942 incident apparently involved HMS Calpe and HMS Cottesmore. The June 1944 incident involved HMS Eskimo and HMCS Huron, a translation of the post reads "June 27th / 28th, 1944: in an attack on a convoy in the night of June 27th / 28th, 1944 off Jersey, the destroyers HMS Eskimo (G-75) and HMCS Huron (G-24) succeed in defeating the auxiliary minesweeper M-4611 = To ram Etienne Rimbert fatally and to sink the outpost boat V-213 = Claus Bolten in a close-range battle. On the other hand, V-203 = Carl Röver, after he succeeded in sinking M-4611 with a coup de grâce and then scoring 2 hits on the destroyer HMS Eskimo (G-75), escaped to Jersey with minor casualties and a burned-out forecastle. There it will be decommissioned for the remainder of the war. HMS Eskimo (G-75) was able to reach Plymouth at 6 knots".
Can we find reliable sources for these incidents and add the info to the article? Mjroots (talk) 12:43, 28 May 2022 (UTC)
