quotation marks edit

Translations should be placed in quotation marks. And anyway, Re-editing again and again the same thing without explaining in the 'Discussion' page, is not acceptable. Instead of explaining yourself to a single user, explain it to all users in this page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.153.69.181 (talk) 22:23, 12 April 2007

Please refer to User talk:Maglanist#Transliteration and naming conventions. I thought you were him. Apologies if this is not the case. Also there is no reason why translations should be in quotes. English, unlike many other languages (notably, Hebrew and Russian) makes much ligher use of quotes and mostly uses them for conversations. -- Ynhockey (Talk) 19:29, 12 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Follow-up: For example, WP:MOS does not mention the use of quotes for translations simply because they should not be used in such a way. However, it has several sections regarding the use of quotes in quotations. Also refer to Wikipedia:Naming conventions (Hebrew) - it's old and unofficial, but highly relevant and widely followed on Wikiepdia. -- Ynhockey (Talk) 19:38, 12 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

picture edit

There is no doubt in my mind that the picture needs to be replaced, and evertime I add a new picture someone takes it away. If your gonna take it away, put up a new one, becuase I live in gedera, and this is not how it looks. It is not a green field. It has houses that are 70 years old and new settlements and a wide variety of picture could fit for the skyline, not the green field that is on right now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.116.200.145 (talk) 17:23, 31 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Definition of Gedera as a Town edit

In this article Gedera is defined as a "Town", even though the official definition is a Moshava. Even though there is no official translation to Moshava (that I know of), there is an entry in Wikipedia for this term, so I think it's worth defining it just as it is. While I believe that it needs mentioning that Gedera was founded as a moshava, I do not believe that any designation other than local council needs to go into the lede. I agree that the word town should be removed. —Ynhockey (Talk) 15:14, 1 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

foundation location spin edit

"Gedera was founded in 1884 by members of the Bilu group, near the ruins of a biblical Israelite city." — Errr, the Arab village of Qatra was directly in-between these two locations. I am replacing this source by some that are better anyway. Zerotalk 10:54, 4 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Ongoing vandalism on this page edit

A non-user (appearing as an IP address) keeps on editing the page to replace Israel with "Occupied Palestine", which is then reverted.
