Repiloted?

If I can find a template I'm going to add a "clarify" tag on that comment. Does that mean it was a leftover episode aired a year later, or did they recast the show? Repiloting brings to mind shows like Star Trek that air recast and rewritten pilots after the first is unsuccessful. 70.72.211.35 (talk) 22:54, 6 February 2013 (UTC)

So very belated but... I think what was meant by "re-piloted" was that after being on ABC from May 1976 through April 1977 the show appeared on NBC in 1978 for a double-length/tv-movie episode. If you watch the DVDs that have come out since you asked you will hear during the opening credits of The Mad Mad Bomber, "A special Friday night ABC movie presentation". The show was an irregularly broadcast series of "specials" and the episode on NBC was an attempt to get a full or regular series commission from some broadcaster. Paramount got 7.5 hours on ABC and 2 hours on NBC before conceding Future Cop was not part of the future of Paramount TV productions. delirious & lost ☯ ^~hugs~ 20:08, 14 August 2016 (UTC)

Should this article have reference to the lawsuit that Harlan Ellison filed and won claiming that this series palgarisez H.E.'s story and screenplay treatment for a similar concept 'Brillo'? Title was pun -- 'Brillo' = steel fuzz. Rmyers7 (talk) 14:06, 28 November 2013 (UTC)
