Hatnote edit

An editor has reinserted an unnecessary hatnote, warning readers not to confuse Friedrich Bayer with Adolf von Baeyer. Considering that the other guy has an entirely different given name, and a somewhat different surname, I fail to see why we need this hatnote in this article. Hatnotes are reserved for topics that are easily confused. In addition it's bad form to reinsert such a hatnote without any edit summary/explanation when its removal has already been explained. --Matthew Douglas-Hamilton (talk) 23:48, 21 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
