editFrederick Maitland died at Tunbridge Wells on 27 January 1848. He is interred at the St. Thomas Cathedral, Mumbai.[1]

- I agree. Frederick Lewis Maitland RN (a cousin of this Frederick Maitland) died on board his ship near Mumbai and he was buried in Mumbai with a memorial in the cathedral. I suspect the original editor may have confused the two. I will delete unless proper evidence can be found this Maitland was interred in St. Thomas'. Riled Ignatius (talk) 10:27, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
THOMAS MAITLAND
editThe 1811 episode seems me to be the same as that of Thomas Maitland. I suppose a history has been attributed to the wrong Maitland. Neopolem (talk) 10:25, 12 December 2018 (UTC)
