Corporate Focus
editThis page reads like it was written by the PR Department at Fortis.
FortisBC is less than 10 years old and has bought its aquisitions.
West Kootenay Power built dams and electrified the West Kootanays for 90 years and there is very little written here about that history. I think a separate article would be appropriate.Dougmcdonell (talk) 08:59, 25 November 2011 (UTC)

editThis article is written in chunks by several single-purpose accounts, some of whom have usernames suggesting they are under the employ of FortisBC. This has resulted in a press release-like tone to the article, and includes, amongst other things, greenwashing and several instances of undue weight
For instance, the lede includes a section on renewable natural gas, in a way that gives it a bigger proportion of the lede while it represents less than 1% of total gas provided. Contrast 0.7 PJ of RNG [1] vs. 230PJ of total natural gas. [2]. The first figure is no longer being provided after 2021.
Article needs significant cleanup of corporate POV issues and undue weight. Acebulf (talk | contribs) 16:14, 19 August 2023 (UTC)
- I've spent a few hours cleaning it all up. The article is now no longer solely a PR piece. There are still some outstanding concerns about undue weight, mainly that the LNG facilities seem to need fleshing out with more information. As-is the hydroelectricity section is larger than the gas infrastructure, despite being a much smaller part of the energy provided. It would perhaps be a good idea to merge the facilities section with the energy provided sections, since they overlap in coverage a bit.
- Unrelated to the undue weight issues, the company history section needs to be converted to prose and updated. Sourcing is likewise problematic throughout the entire article. Acebulf (talk | contribs) 17:59, 19 August 2023 (UTC)
