Reviews to include in Album Ratings table? edit

There has been some disagreement over which review scores should be included in the table of ratings.

My thoughts the following:

  1. Laura Barton (Guardian), Kitty Empire (Observer) and Neil McCormick's (Telegraph) reviews should be included as they are the most notable writers, with their own Wikipedia articles.
  2. Next, The Irish Times must be included as it is the only real minority opinion.
  3. Then we should include Rolling Stone, NME and Pitchfork, as they are typically included here by convention, as the most notable music publications (Alexa rank and longevity are a good indicator of this). The latter should certainly be included, as their score has been a source of media attention itself. Once AllMusic releases their review, it should also be included under this point.
  4. Once these are all included, there will be another 2–3 scores to fill before we reach the 10 review maximum.

I'd love to hear everybody else's thoughts on what ratings to include, so we can reach a consensus. I know many editors have tried to remove the Irish Times review, but I think it must be included for balance and neutrality.

I also know that @Sebastian James: has suggested (and actioned) that we shouldn't include both the Guardian and the Observer reviews, as they are both published by the Guardian, and appear on the Guardian website. I would argue that the prominence of the reviewers themself outweighs where they were published, and I don't personally see any reason not to include both in the template – especially given that they are two different scores. Both reviews are also discussed in the prose of the section, and the table is there to summarise, not supplement, the prose (where reviewers have included scores).

We should add the Allmusic review that popped up today since like every Wikipedia article for an album tends to include the Allmusic review. Frojojo (talk) 16:33, 23 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
I added the AllMusic review. If somebody wants to remove a review so that there are only 10 then feel free to do so. Frojojo (talk) 16:38, 23 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Sebastian James: Since you are the only editor arguing against including both Guardian and Observer in the table, I would love it if you could join the discussion so we could reach some sort of an agreement on this point. Jimmio78 (talk) 00:42, 24 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
I AM the only editor because no one bothered to join this conversation except the user above, who talked about something else. It's surprising that you were removing Irish Times at first, then removed CoS while also removing AOTY score. I don't know what is the purpose of this discussion. I think the template looks OK for now. As I've mentioned before, since 10 is maximum, we can display ratings in the prose (just like Guardian review) so that we won't exceed the maximum. −αΣn=1NDi[n][Σj∈C{i}Fji[n − 1]+Fexti[(n^−1)] 08:35, 24 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Shameika as a single? edit

I have also posted this in her discography talk page, but according to PlayMPE, Epic Records sent "Shameika" to adult alternative radio on April 27, 2020. Is this source credible enough?[1] Daerl (talk) 02:35, 9 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Review removal edit

181.58.174.92 and User:Ftbc779 are the same person who keeps removing Irish Times and adding The Guardian. Can any of you also warn them and inform that we can't include every review in the template and remove anything that we don't like? It seems like they just don't want to understand. nyxærös 20:30, 26 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
