"German-Jewish"
editI don't see any relevance to the fact that Lsassalle was of Jewish descent to his life, work or Weltanschaung. There's nothing in this article, or in the entry on Lassalle on German Wiki, to indicate that he was a practitioner of the Jewish religion, or that he identified himself as Jewish. German Wiki notes: "Philosophisch blieb er dem Hegelianismus verbunden" ("philosophically he remained oriented to Hegelianism"). Nor does his upbringing appear to have been oriented to Judaism. Accordingly, I have deleted "German-Jewish" from the lede. It's enough that the "early life" section notes he was born to a Jewish family in Breslau.
This approach already is employed in the entry on Eduard Bernstein, another German Socialist leader of Jewish descent.

It has a portrait and text which seems complete. It needs citations to indicate which material comes from which links and refs. A person infobox is needed. Seems like it could be longer. Bob Burkhardt (talk) 14:30, 13 January 2009 (UTC) |

Relationship with Countess Sophie von Hatzfeldt
editThis article glosses over the relationship with Countess Sophie von Hatzfeldt, "the Red Countess", portraying it as a pro bono representation of her legal interests. However the German Wikipedia article on her indicates that they were long- term lovers. See https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sophie_von_Hatzfeldt. This needs to be reconciled. I have in my possession a cover (envelope through the post) addressed to Lasalle c/- the Countess of Hatzfeldt, in Vienna, Austria, indicative of some connection, and of presence in Vienna, also not mentioned in the article.
