Criticism

I did not write the section on FRA criticism but wonder why it has been labelled weasel words. It is a statement of fact. Now if someone had called the FRA policy crazy, stupid, costing lives, costing taxpayers billions and such other true, though opinionated, things I would have agreed with the term weasel. As it is most commentators simply shake their heads in disbeleif at FRA policy. If I find this headshaking written down anywhere I will reference it.--Wickifrank (talk) 16:58, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

I think, to justify the weasel words and citation templates, somebody should please explain their importance to this article. Gamgee (talk) 11:53, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

The FRA is criticized quite often in the relevant circles, see here or here. The consensus of this criticism boils down to FRA regulations drastically differing from those in the rest of the (developed) world (e.g. UIC standards) and the lack of scientific rigor or evidence behind many regulations. Administrator list

I'm trying to compile a list of all the FRA Administrators in order to build a comprehensive navbox at {{USFRAAdmin}}. What I've got so far is:

• Robert W. Blanchette 1981-1983.
• Allan Rutter -2005.
• Joseph H. Boardman 2005-2008.
• Joseph C. Szabo 2009-present.

Found one more: Reginald N. Whitman 1969-1970, as noted in "Whitman takes over as Katy president". Railway Age: p 12. July 13, 1970. {{cite journal}}: |page= has extra text (help).

History section for article

I've noticed that the article would be greatly benefited if there was a section detailing the history of the FRA and what actual policy has been implemented by it. Currently the article is well-sourced and neutral with the information that is on it, but there is not much information (to which I understand, as information about the FRA is somewhat hard to come by). If there are no objections, I plan to draft a brief history section to add, or a section about notable policies enacted. Also, I will add a table naming the past history of FRA administrators, which was laid out nicely in this talk page eight (!) years ago but never added to the article; I'll get around to that. On a side note, a few of the citations are broken links (there must have been some mistake in the archiving procedure) so if anyone familiar with those sources knows what happened, that would be helpful. It is my belief that due to the "mid" importance (which should be higher) of the article on WikiProject Trains, this article should be above Start-class. aajorgen (talk) 02:23, 9 November 2017 (UTC)
