I've added a link to the English translation of Wikipedia's German article on this subject. It seemed a logical thing to do, and the translation isn't too bad. May I suggest we add the same photo from that page, as it's already in use by Wikipedia? DesScorp 19:46, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

• Although Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz and BfV are also fairly commonly used in English, Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution seems to have become well-established, and a quick search on Google Scholar shows that it seems to be predominant in academic writing at least. A bit late to the party here, but per WP:NC-GAL, it should be pre-disambiguated with "(Germany)". ninety:one 00:02, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

I agree; Germany is certainly not the first federal government most people in the english-speaking world would think of. Not disambiguating is just going to produce a string of false hits from people in Australia, Canada, or the US (for starters) wondering what the hell this is.

Add Comments of Hans-Georg Maaßen to criticism section?

Some on the right-wing to far-right like Hans-Georg Maaßen have made prominent criticisms accusing the security agency of being overreaching.
