New cleanup required edit

Somehow the pictures have vanished away like melting ice. It isn't too much good without the pics, now is it? How can they all disappear off commons together? And there is the case of the strange chamelion inscriptions. How do they go anyway? In short due to the changes in it the article is losing the thread. At the time I did not use the note system so that has to be done. Links to the nice pics without which this article might as well not be here can be put in the notes. Why would someone give us a pic and then pull it away? The cleanup will include rv's to content. I will get to it if no one else is interested in Exekias. Hm. It took several months for this article to melt away.Dave (talk) 06:06, 29 November 2007 (UTC) PS. I should be more explicit. As happens when you do not give in-line notes the wall-scribblers start inserting their own opinions. Why anyone would want to wall scribble is beyond me but the answer to the problem seems to be a solid note authenticating the statement. So, in the next cut, I envision a new note system verifying what is said. Some decent pics of the works mentioned have to be located and properly specified with a cite net. And the changes need to be checked for their validity as they have no notes either. "I think this. Oh do you? Well, let me tell you, I think that. Oh no no no, I think this." Bah, humbug. Let's have some proper validation here. Now that Google has Google books we can even think about some expansion. So, I am not just talking about rv. We can perhaps get some quotes from art historians and the like. When I cleaned this up there were a mil less articles on Wiki and not too much out there but now it is time to move up with the next cut. These are among the world's famous paintings. Some nice color pics would make such a difference, and we had some, but they have all been pulled! There is nothing but blurry photos there now and a black and white. I suppose this is another way of saying, "you want pics? buy my art book! only 999.99." I cannot say I am in sympathy with you, whoever you are, and one way or another we will get around you, so take your pics and throw them into the furnace. I'm not going to buy them. I think the answer here has to be cite web to a site that enjoys displaying nice art pics for the public.Dave (talk) 06:38, 29 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
