Evangelical
edit"Evangelical" is just a lable like "cool", "phantastic" or some such. Is it Lutheran or Calvinist Reformed or Arminian Reformed? Those are the most common ones calling themselves "Evangelical". Rursus dixit. (mbork3!) 22:48, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
NPOV
editThe article is highly unduely praiseworthy of the church and highly unduely derogatory towards everything else, and it was obviously written by someone closely associated with the subject of the article (i.e., a member of the church, the only person who would have a vested interest in it). number of membership
editWether its the largest evangelical church, I don't know, but there are at least contradiction between this article and other Wiki-article. The Mekane Yesus Church article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethiopian_Evangelical_Church_Mekane_Yesus) mention bigger numbers than this, hence something is wrong. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ReidarPP (talk • contribs) 07:16, 1 April 2019 (UTC)
Hey, the orientation for this denomination is hard to explain in a Western English-speaking Context (It doesn't fit exactly into one theological orientation stream). ...
editI believe this denomination is charismatic-Evangelical Baptist but this description might not be sufficient enough to do justice to the Theological Orientation Classification of the denomination's beliefs because it doesn't fit exactly into one specific theological orientation stream. What I'm 100% sure about its classification as an Evangelical Christian (and charismatic) denomination within P'ent'ay (Ethiopian-Eritrean Evangelicalism) and has been influenced and shaped by the evangelical inter-denominational Christian Mission organization - SIM (Christian organization).
It resembles both Baptist and Pentecostal orientation ... but ... its complicated.
Name
editI got alerted to the existence of the page because of a sockpuppet investigation I was tagged in a long time ago. (I'm not a sockpuppet. I'm real!) I saw that the name in the lead paragraph had a translation right in the middle. The name of the church isn't 'Ethiopian Kale Heywet (Word of Life) Church' in English, but simply the 'Ethiopian Kale Heywet Church'. I addressed the issue of translating the Gəʕz phrase in the middle of that name by giving the Amharic name in Amharic with transliteration, & then translating that name fully. I hope that's clear.
