I once heard a story of Esma in a film. According to this story, Esma sailed along the Bosphoros in a golden gondola, picking up handsome boys and taking them to her private palace, where she would spend one night with them, and the morning after have them killed and disposed of in the Bosphorus, in the same way as was done with unfaitful wifes of her father's and brother's harem, to destroy proof of her sexual life. Also, that she furnished her residence with western furniture. This is of course just fiction. But it would be interesting to know if there was such a legend in reality, and to hear more of it: wath it said, how old it is, etc. Just a remarc. It was a fascinating legend. --85.226.40.162 (talk) 14:41, 12 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

I recognize this as a legend told in a film (I can't remember which). If it is indeed a legend associated with her, then it could and should be described in the article, with appropriate references. --Aciram (talk) 10:40, 3 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
