Surname edit

It would be useful to find out if she writes under her maiden name or married name. The article on Anne Fine does not give her maiden name either; name of Elizabeth Arnold's husband would also be useful.--Johnsoniensis (talk) 08:46, 21 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

She writes as Elizabeth Arnold. If you can find her husband's name, please add it. I couldn't. Bmcln1 (talk) 10:43, 21 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

The only source I have consulted is the Interview with Anne Fine published by Mammoth; there are photographs of Anne and Cordelia Fine in it and of Elizabeth Arnold but nothing is said about the sisters' surname at birth.--Johnsoniensis (talk) 12:14, 21 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Notability and sources edit

Can find very little online about this children's writer. Tacyarg (talk) 14:49, 13 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Expanding on this, as another editor has removed notability and BLP sources tag with a note that they do not think these are issues. I would really like to be able to expand this article but haven't been able to find anything. The references are not strong. They consist of a reference at the Library of Congress supporting her date of birth. Archived link to her publisher's website. Deadlink to her website. A post by the author on another writer's website. Eleven links to her books. Two IMDB links. Something called wordpool, which redirects to http://ukchildrensbooks.co.uk. Unless I have missed anything - not a lot to back up the info about her life. Tacyarg (talk) 15:28, 22 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for trying, anyway. Bmcln1 (talk) 17:01, 22 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
There was a snippet on the birth of the triplets on page 3 of the West Sussex Gazette & South of England Advertiser for Thursday, 20 September 1951. I think it's brief and factual enough to quote here without any copyright issue: Triplets were born in the maternity section of Haslemere Hospital last week to Mrs. M. Laker, wife of Mr. B. Laker of Woolmer Hill, Haslemere, an Admiralty official at Witley. The babies, all girls, are being named Rowena, Bridget, and Sally. Mr. and Mrs. Laker have two other daughters, aged six and three. Rowena married a distant cousin of mine so I've been adding them to my family tree. There are the usual primary sources like birth and marriage registrations and the Navy List but not much in the way of secondary sources for our articles. Father was Brian Laker working at the Admiralty Signals and Radar Establishment. There is some history on that here that could perhaps be added to that, the Witley and/or King Edward's School, Witley articles. Mother was born Eileen Mary Baker. Anne Fine was the three year old, registered as Deirdre Anne Laker in Q4 1947. Elizabeth was the six year old, registered as Susan Elizabeth Laker in Q1 1945. --Cavrdg (talk) 14:59, 3 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
