Future Plans Section: Where's the '95 Plebiscite?

edit

I noticed that the future plans section largely focuses on what proponents of using the Muni more think about the issue. Nothing about what opponents think or about the 1995 referendum, where over 77% of voting Edmontonians voted in favour of consolidating all scheduled flights to the Edmonton International Airport.

In fact, the 1995 plebiscite isn't mentioned anywhere in the article. Why is this? It's a significant event in the airport's history.129.128.235.212 (talk) 22:16, 24 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Scratch my remarks about the plebicite. I found it in the history section. However, the section needs to incorporate more of the recent debate over the airport since the last election. The whole article also needs to cite more sources in general. Any discussion?129.128.235.212 (talk) 22:16, 24 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

I agree that there's a need to expand/update this, and if you're willing and able to do it, I say go for it. Steve Smith (talk) (formerly Sarcasticidealist) 22:38, 24 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Racing

edit

The sentence "Due to Champ Car merging with the Indy Racing League, the IZOD INDYCAR Series and NASCAR Canadian Tire Series used to race there," makes no sense. Champ Car and IRL merged to form INDYCAR, but this sentence suggests that those are three different series. Further, the sentence suggests that the merger of Champ Car and IRL affected the NASCAR series race at YXD. I don't know the details regarding the interaction of these series at this track/airport, which is why I didn't correct this myself. However, I am familiar with each of these, and it this statement just seems off to me not only for content, but for general grammar. 2601:D:BB00:12C1:948A:CA9A:9286:CB2D (talk) 08:31, 18 October 2014 (UTC)LuxornvReply

Edmonton City Centre (Blatchford Field) AirportEdmonton City Centre Airport – By removing the alternate name, the proposed title better matches the WP:NAMINGCRITERIA. It would be more natural, more concise, and would be consistent with other article titles where parentheses are used for disambiguation. In addition, "Blatchford Field" is not commonly used in media, eg. "737 takes off from City Centre Airport", "City Centre Airport shuts down". BLAIXX 18:45, 21 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
