I am no expert at all, so could someone check if the last line is correct? It states that Edith was the only senior member of the Godwine family to survive the Norman Conquest, but didn't her brother Wulfnoth live until 1091? Thanks, 82.16.0.232 (talk) 11:26, 13 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm no expert either, but it appears that Wulfnoth remained a captive in Normandy, so Edith was the only senior member of the Godwin family to survive the Norman Conquest on English soil. I edited the entry to clarify this. I also standardized the spelling of the family name to "Godwin" throughout. The article on Edith's father identifies the various spellings of the Godwin family name; this article will look cleaner if we use just one spelling. The article states that she "was Queen of England from her marriage to Edward the Confessor in 1045" but also that she "married Edward on 23 January 1043.^[1] But ODNB actually says "she was married to Edward (d. 1066) on 23 January 1045".
