Article Start
editI started this article today to get it going and to have an article to link from the filmography section of Kenji Kamiyama's biography article. I haven't actually started a new article before, so forgive me if I mixed something up (particularly in terms of the WikiProject work groups). --'Kash (talk) 19:00, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
Genre suggestion
editI suggest adding Political thriller as a genre, but I wonder if that is debatable, or needs a citation of some sort. But if it does, Psychological is even more dubious. What do you think? BlazerKnight (talk) 23:45, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
Juiz
editHello, In the article is say that "Juiz" stand for portuguese "Judge" but, as said in the anime, the game ressembles the love of Mr.Outside for brazilian footbal(soccer),I know that in potuguese the word "Juiz" can be "Judge" or "Referee", but to this case, I supose the second word would be more suitable, due the football game plot. I think a change is needed. Thanks.

"Juiz" is what a referee is called in portuguese (brazilian portuguese at least). A literal translation to "Judge" explains nothing. Also, the (brazilian) portuguese word for Selecao is "Seleção" (not "Selecção"), as in "seleção brasileira" as we brazilians call the national soccer team. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.11.218.136 (talk) 03:02, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
Start?
editI think that this article should be a C-class, since it needs wikification. There is too much content for it to be a start. Marx01 Tell me about it 03:52, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
- Send it to be assessed then. DragonZero (talk) 05:44, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
- Now up to C-class, after my assessment request and some additions. More work is still needed, though. Any volunteers? LainEverliving LainEverloving (talk) 09:01, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
Reception
editThe section describing Anime News Network's opinion of this series is way too long. — Hex (❝?!❞) 03:19, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
Info
editAccording to this, NEC was the one who designed the phone which Akira Takizawa was seen using throughout the series. Theme song for the 1st film has been decided, "light prayer" by school food punishment. Source: here. First Movie Release Date
editIs the date listed for the release of The King of Eden movie correct? According to the official website (http://juiz.jp/) and to more recent ANN articles, the movie's release date should have been 11/28. If someone can confirm this, it should probably be updated in the article by someone who knows what they are doing. --66.8.254.94 (talk) 07:52, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

Order of Characters
editWhy is Saki on-top of the characters section?
Shouldn't Takizawa be on the top? 69.254.53.223 (talk) 13:21, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
- Which character appeared first in the series? —Farix (t | c) 17:52, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
- Not sure that matters; who is the primary protagonist? Mostly the story's told from Saki's PoV, but Takizawa seems to be the main protagonist, since he's the character who most drives the plot, so I'd vote for listing him first. Memetics (talk) 14:03, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
- In the final anime episode Akira is listed first and then Saki. You can check the other episodes and movies and see if they are similar? -AngusWOOF (talk) 18:16, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
Selecaos 3 and 8
editNow that we know the names of Selecaos 3 and 8, shouldn't there names be up? The first movie's been out for some time, so its not much of a spoiler. I'd do it myself, but I can't read Japanese. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.105.52.7 (talk) 17:52, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
Film #2: Paradise Lost
editDoes anyone know whether the Japanese article contains information about the DVD release of the second film? It would be useful to know when an English subtitled version will be available to the public. SweetNightmares (talk) 03:29, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
Amazon.co.jp. Released August 4, 2010. Better find a more reliable source than Amazon before adding it to the article. DragonZero (talk · contribs) 06:54, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
Review(s)
editImprovement help request: Number of DVDs sold by when? Related to Oricon?
editPlease let me apologize first that I can only ask this question and not take care of it myself. I'm reading Wikipedia with a migraine, which is ridiculous to begin with, and then I started editing! I make me laugh.
Anyway, below between sets of dashes is the comment I started to leave in the Reception section next to the When template, before I realized that as a request it belonged on this page:
The Japanese release of the first DVD volume debuted on July 29, 2009, in 23rd place on the Oricon video charts with 4,394 copies sold. --By when? "With # copies sold" implies that that number is related to the DVD's place on the Oricon video charts. First, please make it clear if the two are related, and second, please make clear the time frame, using a phrase such as "for the week of Month #, Year," "the week/month it was released," or "from this date to that date. Thanks!--
Thanks again, --Geekdiva (talk) 05:29, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
Eden of the East
editWhy are only 3 of the members listed along with Panties? Painties is not really part of Eden of the East anymore, he's just a friend. But I get why listing him under the title as part of the group is the easier and lazier way out. BUT, that doesn't answer why there are 2 members not listed at ALL! I can't even remember how to spell their names. lol There's a women and there's a somewhat hunch-back guy who wears glasses and was seen sitting in the desk during some of the meetings. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.138.75.232 (talk) 09:22, 4 October 2011 (UTC)
- Agreed. It's not like the club is that big that we only need notables, especially when some of the Selecao listed have shorter appearances than the two. They and Panties are also active in the movie. I've added their entries and names. -AngusWOOF (talk) 22:53, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
Selecao plural and other Portuguese translations
editAlthough the plural for Selecao might be Seleções (someone with Portuguese can confirm), throughout the series and film and dubs, Selecao is used in both singular and collectively to refer to the game players. Also the translation for Juiz as Judge is not explicitly discussed in the series so I have moved that information to a footnote until it can be referenced by a proper media source that discusses the series or film. -AngusWOOF (talk) 15:11, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
Akira or Takizawa
editThe article is inconsistent as to whether it wants to refer to Akira Takizawa as Takizawa or Akira. Hackwrench (talk) 04:21, 30 December 2015 (UTC)
