Dyson Group vs Dyson's Bus Service and other acquisitions

@Fleet Lists: Below are two issues I found that may require your opinion.

Dyson subsidiaries

Currently on Wikipedia, the three main subsidiaries of Dysons Group are Dyson's Bus Services, Reservoir Bus Company and East West Bus Company. As mentioned in your edit in East West Bus Company as well as your other edits today (18 March 2019), the East West bus services are now operated by Dysons, implying that East West is defunct. This also applies to Reservoir's. PTV website updated the bus company names to Dysons sometime between March 2015 and April 2015, implying that the two companies were defunct:

• 552 (March 2016) - listed as Dysons
• 552 (February 2015) - listed as Reservoir
• 553 (July 2015) - listed as Dysons
• 553 (March 2015) - listed as Reservoir
• 561 (April 2015) - listed as Dysons
• 561 (March 2015) - listed as East West

East West seemed to have gone defunct since February 2014 based on the Reservoir's former website. Additionally, Reservoir's latest announcement on the website was November 2012, around the time Reservoir's was purchased by Dyson's. On the Dyson's website in January 2014, all the Reservoir's and East West routes were listed there. If you agree that these companies are defunct, changes will have to be made to those and other articles to reflect the change in branding.

Based on this website from BCSV, it says: "Reservoir Bus Co and Midland Tours were both sold to Dyson’s, effective from 1 November 2012 a natural fit given their long standing partnerships for more than three decades. The Melbourne Bus Link & East-West partnership were initially retained, however not being a successful shortlisted bidder for the Melbourne Bus Franchise, Melbourne Bus Link ceased operation on 3 August 2013. The Copper family soon sold their shares in East West Bus Company to Dysons in February 2014."

Does that mean the Copper family sold Reservoir's to Dyson's in November 2012, but retained shareholding in East West until the latter was sold in February 2014? A little bit confused.Marcnut1996 (talk) 14:12, 18 March 2019 (UTC)

East-West continues as a brand name, in so far as that buses that have recently been delivered or repainted into PTV livery carry the name. The Reservoir brand has been retired. Dunct3719 (talk) 20:07, 18 March 2019 (UTC)

Most railway stations have been updated to show the operator now as Dysons and the East_West_Bus_Company article has also been updated to that effect as you say but it is still shown as a current operator. As you say that the latter brand is still retained, I suggest you update that article to show that. I have no information on Reservoir.Fleet Lists (talk) 04:53, 19 March 2019 (UTC)

Dyson's Bus Services?

In the current Dysons website, there is no mention of these two bus company names. There is also no mention of the name "Dyson's Bus Services". Google search only gives the wikipedia page. From the looks of it, Dyson Group and Dyson's Bus Services seem to be the exact same thing. If you agree, we should propose to merge the two articles (they are very similar anyway) with the new page to be named "Dyson Group". Marcnut1996 (talk) 14:12, 18 March 2019 (UTC)

Agree with merge, all operations trade as Dysons, so should be under that name. Dunct3719 (talk) 19:53, 18 March 2019 (UTC)
